In my opinion creating beautiful Christmas DIY’s shouldn’t take a lot of time or cost a lot of money. Today I will be sharing 3 DIY’s for Christmas that you can do in an afternoon and without breaking the bank. The first DIY is for some beautiful winter wonderland apothecary snow globes, followed by some snowball garland and ending with a gorgeous dried orange and cinnamon stick garland.
My jars and bottle brushed trees were thrifted and the miniatures were purchased at my local Dollar Tree. I was very surprised to find such good quality miniatures at Dollar Tree and that I was able to purchase a pack of them that contained 3 cute miniatures for only $1.00.
For my snow I used canning salt and ice cream salt to replicate snow and ice in my snow globes.
Drying orange slices in your oven is so simple it just takes a while for them to completely dry out. You will want to slice your oranges 1/4 inch, pat them dry then lay them on a cookie sheet lined with either parchment paper or a silicone mat. These will dry out for 5-6 hours turning them once. I left mine in the oven for 6 hours and as you can see the colors varied from slice to slice which I personally think give the garland a lot of dimension.
Snowball garland has to be the easiest garland you will ever make. All you need are some pom poms, a needle and thread. You’re going to string the pom poms together and either leave them spaced apart or close together depending on your preference.
